
Head of Master’s Program in English Education at FKIP UNIB Conducts Benchmarking Visit to UPI
Bandung, May 28, 2025 — In a move to enhance the quality and relevance of its graduate program, Dr. Iis Sujarwati, M.Pd., Head of the Master’s Program in English Education at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Bengkulu (UNIB), conducted a benchmarking visit to the Master’s Program in English Education at the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung.
The meeting was attended by key academic leaders from both institutions, including Prof. Emi Emilia, Ph.D. (Head of the English Education Master’s Program, FPBS UPI), Dr. Rojab Siti Rodliyah (Secretary of the Program), and Dr. Fazri Nur Yusuf, M.Pd. (Head of the Quality Assurance Unit of the English Education Master’s Program, FPBS UPI). The discussion took place in a warm and collaborative atmosphere.
A major focus of the meeting was the revision of the graduate curriculum in response to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023, which emphasizes outcome-based education (OBE), curriculum flexibility, and student-centered learning. Both institutions shared experiences and strategies for aligning their curriculum with the new regulation while maintaining academic rigor and graduate competencies.
Another key topic was the development of strategic efforts to help students graduate on time. These included the implementation of structured academic supervision, early integration of research planning, and the use of digital platforms to monitor students’ progress effectively.
In addition to the academic discussions, the two programs also formalized their intent to collaborate by signing an Implementation Arrangement (IA) document, marking the beginning of an official partnership.
