DIC dengan kepraktisan dan aksesibilitasnya, memanfaatkan kamera smartphone untuk akuisisi gambar dan program pemrosesan gambar yang tersedia secara bebas, seperti ImageJ dan aplikasi smartphone, untuk kuantifikasi gambar. Penggunaan DIC dapat memungkinkan siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan ilmiah yang penting, termasuk berpikir kritis, interpretasi data, dan pendekatan berbasis bukti untuk penelitian ilmiah.
