UNIB ADDED 1,690 GRADUATES ON 88th PERIOD GRADUATION,

The University of Bengkulu’s 88th graduation ceremony was held on two days, Monday and Tuesday, 26 and 27 August 2019 at the UNIB Multipurpose Building (GSG). In this graduation period, UNIB graduated 1,690 graduates from eight faculties and six levels of education, namely Postgraduate S3, Postgraduate S2, Professional, Undergraduate (S1) Regular, Undergraduate (S1) Non-Regular, and Vocational/Diploma level.

On the first day, Monday, August 26 2019, UNIB inaugurated 1067 graduates from four faculties, namely the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education with 547 graduates, the Faculty of Law with 102 graduates, the Faculty of Agriculture with 228 graduates, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with 190 graduates.

Then on the second day, Tuesday, August 27 2019, the number of graduates was 623 people from four other faculties, namely, the Faculty of Economics and Business as many as 230 graduates, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences 267 graduates, the Faculty of Engineering 95 graduates, and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. as many as 31 graduates.

The graduation ceremony was opened and led directly by the Chancellor of UNIB, Dr. Ridwan Nurazi, SE, M.Sc, was attended by the chairman and members of the university senate, professors, invited guests from banking elements and other institutions, and was witnessed by thousands of parents and families of graduates who packed the GSG UNIB building.

UNIB Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Lizar Alfansi, SE, M.BA reported, based on education level, in the 88th graduation period, UNIB graduated 1 Doctoral (S3 Postgraduate), 184 Masters (S2 Postgraduate), 4 Professions, 1,289 Bachelors (S1) regular program and non-regular, as well as 212 Diploma (vocational).

With this graduation, until August 2019, the total number of UNIB graduates was 56,281 graduates, consisting of 21 Doctoral (S3), 7,534 Masters (S2), 38,341 Bachelors (S1), 155 Professions, and 10,230 Experts (Diploma/D3).

“Congratulations to the graduates, keep the good name of the alma mater and hopefully the knowledge and degrees obtained through education at UNIB can be useful for life and become provisions for you to achieve your goals and success,” said Prof. Lizar Alfansi.

The graduation and inauguration processions were marked by the transfer of the toga pigtails from left to right symbolically carried out by the Chancellor to representatives of graduates and attended simultaneously by all graduates.

In addition to inaugurating 1,690 graduates, on this occasion the Chancellor received lecturers back from education, after completing their doctoral education (S3). They are Dr. Arif Ismul Hadi, S.Si, M.Si, a lecturer at FMIPA UNIB who has completed his Doctoral Degree in Geophysics Specialization (Landslide) from UGM, Yogyakarta and Dr. Jarulis, S.Si, M.Si, a lecturer at FMIPA UNIB who has completed his Doctoral Degree in Molecular Biology from IPB, Bogor.

After receiving the lecturers back, the Chancellor of UNIB gave awards and congratulations to the graduates who graduated the best with honors at the 88th graduation period in 2019.

On the first day of the graduation ceremony, for the undergraduate level, the best graduated with honors, namely; Amini from S1 Biology Education Study Program, FKIP, with a GPA of 3.96, child of the couple Akil Lefron/Kasmaneli; Anastasia Lioni Wijaya from the Law Study Program, Faculty of Law, with a GPA of 3.92, child of the couple Musa Wijaya/Rosdiana Uspari;

Next; Saurmaida Sinurat from FP Animal Husbandry Study Program, with a GPA of 3.66, daughter of Alusdin Sinurat/Maria Sinaga; Serly Fitriah from S1 Agribusiness Study Program FP, with a GPA of 3.66, child of the couple Efsan Marzon/Desna Hartati; and Hotmauli Silitonga from the Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA, with a GPA of 3.58, the son of Esron Silitonga/Romian Simamora.

For the postgraduate level, the best graduates graduated with honors, namely; Avidlyandi from the Chemistry Study Program, FMIPA, with a GPA of 3.97, son of the Mahalian/Nur Aisyah couple; Dedi Jasrial from S2 Study Program Pend. English FKIP, with a GPA of 3.96, son of M. Jalal/Yusnimar; Ana Marleni from Master of Education Technology FKIP, with a GPA of 3.96, child from Miftahuddin/Ismaniah; Fina Sulistiya Ningsih from FP Agribusiness Masters Program, with a GPA of 3.96, child from Suwartono/Tasiyem; Miftahuljanah from FP Agribusiness Masters Study Program, with a GPA of 3.96, son from Sobandi/Rokayah, and Andrey Pramudia from Law Faculty Law Masters Study Program, with a GPA of 3.81, son from Rapani/Laila Sandra.

Then for the D3 level, the best graduates graduated with honors, namely; Jenny Dwi Pratiwi Ramdhan from D3 English FKIP, with a GPA of 3.79, the son of Moch. Ramdhan/Mardalena Indrawati; and Fitri Anisa Mardatillah from D3 Lab. Science FMIPA, with a GPA of 3.79, the son of Herman/Azimarni.

On the second day of graduation, for the undergraduate level, the best graduated with honors, namely; Novriansyah from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, with a GPA of 3.95, son of Ahmadi, B.A (late)/Dislin Misni; Wahyu Wulandari from S1 Public Administration FISIP, with a GPA of 3.92, son of Yasid Bustomi/Sismawati; and Ricka Ade Putri from S1 Management FEB, with a GPA of 3.89, children of the couple Suhar/Roswati.

For the master’s level, the best graduate with honors was Era Retnoningsih from the Masters Program in Communication Science, FISIP, with a GPA of 3.78, the son of Soetjipto/Sri Iswati. And for the D3 level, namely Bunga Bailliyanda from the D3 Accounting Study Program, FEB, with a GPA of 3.95, the child of the Bambang Hermanto/Ilham Martini couple, and Debora Sartika from the D3 Journalism FISIP, with a GPA of 3.93, the child of the Tf. Hutahaeyan/L. Manurung.

In addition to awarding the best graduates with honors, the Chancellor also announced the youngest graduate, namely Murni Yanti from the Communication Studies Study Program, FISIP, with a GPA of 3.48, the son of the Samsudin/Nuril Aisyah couple. He was born in Durian Demang, November 28, 1998 and is currently 20 years, 9 months old.

At the 88th graduation period, in front of members of the senate, guests, graduates and thousands of parents of graduates, UNIB Chancellor Dr. Ridwan Nurazi, SE, M.Sc, Ak, CA, delivered a speech with the title “Millennial Heroes to Strengthen Diversity (Excellent HR, Advanced Indonesia).”

Different from the previous graduation period, in this 88th graduation period, the event was enlivened by the performance of a solo song by a graduate of the English Language Study Program FKIP, Tomy Dananjaya. He is a Bengkulu dangdut ambassador who has competed in the 2018 Indosiar LIDA (Indonesian Dangdut League) event.

With great appreciation, witnessed by thousands of pairs of eyes, Tomy sang “Offering to Mother” as he approached and gave flowers to his mother who was sitting on the guest chair. Then, embracing his tear-stained mother, the young man from Padang Jaya District, North Bengklulu Regency, walked to the main stage and shook hands with the chancellor and other UNIB leaders.

Not only that, the graduation ceremony was also marked by poetry reading by the Chair of the Bengkulu University Senate, Ir. Nusril, MS, and several songs presented by the UNIB Choir “Echo Rafflesia”.

Then, on the second day of graduation, this event was even more special because it was attended directly by the Governor of Bengkulu, Dr. dr. H. Rohidin Mersyah, MMA who took the time to deliver a speech and congratulate the UNIB graduates.[Hms1].
