FACULTY OF TEACHER TRAINING AND EDUCATION UNIVERSITY OF BENGKULU COOPERATES JOURNAL MANAGEMENT COOPERATION WITH SRIWIJAYA UNIVERSITY

FKIP UNIB – The 2019 MIPA Education National Seminar (SNP-MIPA) which was held by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Unib on October 5, 2019 was a blessing in itself. Not only was the seminar a success, but at that moment the Mathematics Education Study Program of FKIP Unib succeeded in collaborating with the Mathematics Education Study Program of Sriwijaya University (Unsri) in the journal management system. The collaboration was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Head of the Mathematics Education S1 Study Program FKIP Unib, Safdi Maizora, S.Si., M.Pd and the Head of the Mathematics Education Master’s Degree Study Program FKIP Unib, Prof. Dr. Wahyu Widada, M.Pd, with the Manager of the Mathematics Educations Journal (JME) and the Mathematics Education Journal (JPM) as well as the Head of the Unsri Mathematics Education Doctoral Program, Prof. Dr. Zulkardi, M. Ikom., M.Sc.

The signing of the collaboration was carried out in the left wing room of the FKIP Learning Lab Building shortly before Prof. Zulkardi, M.Ikom, M.Sc delivered his paper as the main speaker at the SNP-MIPA seminar. The signing was witnessed directly by the Dean of FKIP Unib, Prof. Dr. Sudarwan Danim and all the seminar participants.

Previously, on Friday, October 4, 2019, a workshop related to journal management was also held with the main resource, Prof. Dr. Zulkardi, M.Sc and Prof. Dr. Ratu Ilma, M.Si. The two resource persons are managers of the Journal Mathematics Educations (JME) and the Journal of Mathematics Education (JPM). As it is known that JME which is owned by the S3 Mathematics Education Study Program, Sriwijaya University has been successfully indexed by Scopus and Sinta 1, while JPM is indexed by Sinta 2. These two journals are expected to be a boost for journals in Bengkulu University, especially in FKIP to continue to improve its quality, considering that Unib only has 5 journals that have been indexed by Sinta, two of which are in FKIP with an index of Sinta 4.

One of the materials presented at the workshop was about tips on writing scientific articles from the results of student thesis research to be published in an anthology journal. The resource person suggested that the thesis supervisor should provide maximum guidance in writing articles by students so that they can produce quality scientific articles. The main supervisor should be the correspondent author of the article so that the credit score can be the same as the first author. (rls)
