FKIP UNIB SUCCESSFUL HELD INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR “MASEIS” AND NATIONAL SEMINAR “SNP-MIPA”

BENGKULU-Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Bengkulu University has successfully held international seminars “Mathematics and Science Education International Seminar (MaSEIS)” and “National Seminar on Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (SNP-MIPA) 2019”. The seminar with the theme of Strengthening Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education with Conservation and Local Wisdom in the Era of Disruption was held simultaneously on October 5 at the University of Bengkulu FKIP environment.

Bengkulu University’s Vice Chancellor for Resources, Dr. Ir. Sigit Sudjatmiko, M.Sc in his remarks at the opening of the event in the FKIP Dean’s Hall gave high appreciation for the success of FKIP in holding international seminars with the Scopus indexed publication target. This seminar opens wide opportunities for teachers, lecturers, students and researchers to hone their writing skills and increase the number of publications, especially the papers selected at the MaSEIS seminar will be published through the Scopus indexed publisher. Especially for Unib students and lecturers, this seminar can be used as an event to increase the number of Scopus indexed papers with University of Bengkulu affiliation.

Based on the report from the chairman of the seminar, Dr. M. Sutarno, S.Si, M.Pd, MaSEIS were attended by 135 presenters from within and outside the country and 10 listeners, while SNP-MIPA was attended by 25 presenters and 86 listeners. The MaSEIS seminar presented keynote speakers from 4 countries, namely: Prof. Katsuhiro Nakamura (Japan), Prof. Patricia (Trish) Patrick (USA), Prof. Dr. Muhaimin Ismoen (Brunei), and Prof. Dr. Liliasari, M.Pd (Indonesia), while the SNP-MIPA seminar presented 3 main speakers, namely: Prof. Dr. Zulkardi, M.Ikom., M.Sc (Unsri), Prof. Dr. Sudarwan Danim (Unib), and Dr. M. Lutfi Firdaus, M.T (Unib).

On a separate occasion, the Head of the PMIPA FKIP Unib Department, Dr. M. Lutfi Firdaus, M.T expressed his joy because the two seminars were able to run smoothly, however, the Head of Department reminded that the committee should not be carried away by this success because the more difficult task is basically just starting, namely guarding and following up on the papers that have been submitted. received by the committee can be immediately published according to the target set.

Furthermore, the Head of PMIPA said that the success of organizing this seminar could not be separated from the hard work of the committee, which mostly consisted of young lecturers, the good support from FKIP officials, lecturers and employees in FKIP, and the involvement of FKIP students during the seminar as officers. registration, documentation, moderators, and operators during parallel sessions/paper presentations.
